Looking Through Tears

Back in 1998, I poured my heart into this song after a heartbreaking and devastating fire took everything I loved. It’s been a long road, full of struggles, but I’ve finally rebuilt my life and finished this song for you. I hope it touches you—please enjoy, share if you feel moved, and check out this powerful new documentary, Truth Rising, embedded at the of this article.

This documentary is a collaborative effort of the Colson Center and Focus on the Family, two of the most solid Christian Organizations still thriving today.

This broadcast will speak to a multi-generational breaking point that we are currently facing. If your time permits, please take the time and watch this broadcast too.

Here are the lyrics to this new praise and worship song:

Looking Through Tears

Verse 1
Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You now,
On my knees, broken, with my head bowed.
I’ve been running so long, lost in my shame,
But Your mercy is calling, I’m whispering Your name.
Chorus
Looking through tears, I see Your grace,
At the foot of the cross, I find my place.
Forgive me, Lord, forgive me, please,
Your love has brought me to my knees.
Verse 2
I see You, Jesus, on that rugged tree,
Your blood was poured out to set this sinner free.
Barren and weary, my soul was alone,
But Your arms are open, You’re calling me home.
Chorus
Looking through tears, I see Your grace,
At the foot of the cross, I find my place.
Forgive me, Lord, forgive me, please,
Your love has brought me to my knees.
Bridge
No more searching, no more pain,
Your holy presence washes my stains.
Hallelujah, I’m free, I’m whole,
Your endless love has saved my soul!
Chorus
Looking through tears, I see Your grace,
At the foot of the cross, I find my place.
Forgive me, Lord, forgive me, please,
Verse 3
Your love has brought me to my knees.
When the storms of life, try to break me down
I’ll cling to your promise, it is where hope is found.
Your my shelter, my light in the dark
In every heart ache, you’re the healing spark,
Chorus
Looking through tears, I see Your grace,
At the foot of the cross, I find my place.
Forgive me, Lord, forgive me, please,
Your love has brought me to my knees.
Verse 4
Now your replaces, the sorrow I knew
With every heartbeat Lord, I’ll worship you
You’ve turned my mornings, into songs of praise
For every tear shed, I lift your name always
Chorus
Looking through tears, I see Your grace,
At the foot of the cross, I find my place.
Forgive me, Lord, forgive me, please,
Your love has brought me to my knees.
So here I stand In faith I believe
Your Promises True, In you I receive
Looking through tears..
