The 2015 Discovery: Glyphosate’s Global Threat

In 2015, while advancing Non-GMO initiatives, I received alarming laboratory results confirming glyphosate contamination in organic crops worldwide. Groundwater contamination and wind drift were spreading this herbicide from industrial farms to fields across the globe, transcending borders. While genetically modified crops were a concern, I identified glyphosate as the primary threat to global agriculture. This revelation, uncovered from our Venice headquarters, drove BioChecked™ to develop solutions to protect producers and ensure food purity on a worldwide scale.

BioChecked’s Global Solution: The Non Glyphosate Certified™ Standard

From Venice, Florida, BioChecked™ launched the Non Glyphosate Certified™ standard, a companion to our Non-GMO certification. This initiative empowered producers globally to demonstrate their commitment to uncontaminated food through stringent testing protocols. In 2017-2018, we rebranded our certification programs, introducing a unified, professional Non Glyphosate Certified™ seal that gained international recognition, symbolizing trust and transparency for consumers and producers alike.

Upholding Global Standards: A Rigorous Certification Process

BioChecked’s certification process, designed with precision, sets a global benchmark. Products earning the Non Glyphosate Certified™ seal undergo annual and random testing by ISO 17025-accredited laboratories, ensuring glyphosate residues remain below 0.01 ppm—a zero-tolerance standard. The process prioritizes confidentiality, with producers receiving results first. From small farms to large-scale operations, producers worldwide have invested significant resources to meet these standards, delivering pure products to global markets.
